Provincial Elections
Provincial Elections occur about every 4 years.They happen every 4 years because in The Charter of Rights and Freedom states that an election should happen once in 5 years. In Provincial Government candidates represent a party or they run independently.Each Political Party has a different viewpoint that represents their party.They also have different strategies and policies from each other.each Party will have chosen a candidate from their party before an election is called.
To Be A Candidate
To stand up in the elections you must be 18 years or older and a Canadian Citizen.You must also get a form signed by 25 people who are living in the constituency you want to stand up for.Until the date of the elections, candidates will explain to citizens what they plan to do after getting elected.
To Be Able To Vote
On the day of Elections people can only vote if they are 18 or older, a Canadian Citizen, and has lived in the province for 6 months.
Local Elections
Local Elections happen every 3 years.Citizens Vote From a group of people in their community they live in.

To stand up in the elections you have to be 18 or older, a Canadian Citizen, and has lived in the municipality for at least 6 months.After this you have to pay the fees of being a candidate. Once you have followed these instructions, you can begin campaigning. You can make speeches and inform citizens about whart you stand for.
